Falls Prevention

As we age, our sure-footedness declines and, at the same time, our bones become increasingly brittle.  Falls are one of the largest causes of harm in health care. Preventing falls and minimising their harmful effects are critical.

As Physio’s we can design programs to improve your strength, stability and proprioception so we can keep you doing what you love longer.

During your initial appointment we will take a thorough history and discuss the goals that you want to achieve.  We will assess your general strength and flexibility and then take you through a range of balance and proprioceptive tests.  From this we will design a specific home exercise program (HEP) targeting the areas that require work.
